The Brand Design Process

Below is the 1 week brand design process explained in detail & what I need from my client in each step.

Inspiration Board:
The inspiration board is the starting point for the 1 week process. It makes sure you and I are on the same page visually. I use the images you’ve collected on your Pinterest board, to pull in colors, patterns, textures, and photos that visually represent the tone and theme of your new brand.

Items I need from my client:

  • Access to your Pinterest board
  • A simple but to-the-point description for each pin and why the photo was included in the board.

Logo Concepts:
The logo concepts are a direct reflection of the inspiration board. I create 3 design concepts for you and after you have reviewed the three options, we narrow it down to one logo and make the necessary revisions.

Items I need from my client:

  • A completed inspiration board to get an idea of what you are looking for
  • Mission Statement
  • Ideal customer (target audience)
  • Adjectives that describe your brand (direction your new brand is going)

Brand Style Guide
The brand style guide is a single page PDF that includes: fonts, colors, alternate logos, patterns, and illustrations that tie the brand together. This is to be used in the future for you to refer back to.

Collateral Designs:
This is where the items of the brand board begin to come together. I design 3 collateral items and a brand book of my client's choice and provide them with the necessary files for printing/downloading.

Items I need from my client:

  • Idea of your workflow to help nail down which 3 items would be most beneficial
  • Conformation of the 3 collateral items you choose
  • Text and photos for each collateral item

Launch Day:
Let's celebrate you and your launch! Once you launch your new brand and website we will promote it on social media! Your hard work deserves to shine bright!

This 2 week process was originally created by Lauren Hooker at Elle & Co, but adapted to work with our business.
